Teams Rooms

Microsoft Teams Room (MTR)

A Microsoft Teams Rooms is a vital part of a modern office’s infrastructure. Just like an office needs desks for employees, a kitchen area for refreshments, and a front door for visitors, MTR’s are required to facilitate seamless video conferencing and group meetings.

Cameras, microphones, speakers, displays, and control systems combine with Microsoft technology to ensure the Teams Room is optimised for productivity and collaboration. User are not left trying to find a room, figure out how to initiate a call, and can instead simply and efficiently use all the features available.

The MTR enables participants to join virtual meetings, share content, and communicate effectively with both remote and in room team members or clients alike. The hardware selected and advanced features (such as automatic camera framing and AI-powered noise cancellation) are specifically designed for each room dependent on its size and purpose of use.

Zoom Rooms v Teams Rooms

Zoom rooms are very similar to Teams rooms with the main difference being the room’s software is a Zoom variant. The camera, microphone and speaker requirements will all be the same and dependent on the size and use of the room, the software (Teams or Zoom) is chosen as a corporate standard by the business installing the room.

Since the pandemic the market has found Zoom rooms are often being replaced by Teams rooms. The good news is most of the equipment used to provide Zoom rooms can be upgraded and reconfigured to support Teams rooms at no or very little costs.

Other advanced configurations will allow Zoom meetings to be joined from Teams rooms via the Teams’ Direct Join feature, in both cases a BYOD adapter will allow a laptop to host either Teams or Zoom to allow access to the alternative platform.
